Dr. Topp is an internationally recognized leader in the field of spinal medicine and surgery. He specializes in advanced adult and pediatric treatment options for pain and deformity related to disc degeneration and disc herniation; scoliosis; kyphosis; spondylolisthesis and other spinal deformities; spinal stenosis; spinal tumors; infections and spinal trauma.
Dr. Topp joined Southern Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine after a distinguished, 24 year career in the United States Army. He has deployed to combat numerous times in support of Operations Desert Shield and Storm, as well as, Operation Enduring Freedom. He has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career. These positions included an Armor Company Executive Officer, Medical Company Commander, Director of the Army Trauma Training Center and Chief of Spinal Surgery, Brooke Army Medical Center. His military awards include the Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and the Legion of Merit.
